World Class Public Art Program

Houston Airports Art is the public art program of Houston Airports, home to one of the largest art collections in the aviation industry. The civic art collection features nearly 450 works by local, national and international artists.

In addition to its permanent collection, Houston Airports presents more than a dozen rotating exhibitions each year through cultural collaborations with institutions such as NASA, the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art, FotoFest, the Houston Botanic Garden and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The mission of Houston Airports Art is to enhance the passenger experience and reflect the spirit of Houston through dynamic, diverse and inspiring works of art.

Skytrax named Houston Airports World's Best Airport Art Program in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

    Provides local artists with studio space in the airport, a stipend and direct engagement with travelers.

Civic Art Collection

Houston Airports is home to one of aviation's largest civic art collections, with nearly 450 works on display across its terminals.

The collection spans a range of styles, scales and media—from painting and photography to jewelry, monumental sculpture, drawing and immersive installations. It reflects the distinctive creativity of artists from the greater Houston area and beyond, strongly emphasizing Texas talent alongside national and international voices.

Houston Airports partners with local institutions to present more than a dozen rotating exhibitions annually through cultural collaborations.

These exhibitions feature contributions from organizations such as NASA, the 1940 Air Terminal Museum, the Orange Show Center of Visionary Art, FotoFest, the Houston Botanic Garden and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. By showcasing Houston’s rich cultural landscape, these collaborations promote the local creative community, enhance the passenger experience and reinforce a strong sense of place.

Our globally acclaimed program has a roster of over 127 professional musicians of a diverse repertoire spanning Classical, Jazz, Bossa-Nova, and Country Western. Several perform in other stellar Houston music venues such as the Houston Symphony, the Houston Grand Opera, and the Houston Ballet.

Airport Art Ambassador

Airport Art Ambassador

Houston Airports enhances the guest experience by inviting travelers to engage with local creatives.

Airport Art Ambassadors include roaming artists, poets, crafters and caricaturists who create on-the-spot works for passengers of all ages—offering travelers a unique keepsake and a memorable moment along their journey. This program complements the Artist in Residence initiative, the country's longest continuously running airport residency program. This program brings local artists into the terminals to demonstrate their creative process in real time.
